We put so much of ourselves into The Pickled Husky.Chris brought his experience as a builder. I brought my background in photography and design. Together, we created a home around the things we love—and a place we wanted other people to experience.Even the name tells our story. We met at the Pickle Barrel in Killington, and our husky, Stowe, is named after the town that means so much to us.But guests wouldn’t know any of that unless we shared it.They could admire the rooms without knowing the people behind them. They could explore Stowe without discovering our favorite ways to spend a day. They could stay in our home without ever noticing the little details that made it ours.I wanted to bring those things into their stay.So I used the same care I bring to photography and design to create a guide that felt like a magazine. Inside were our story, personal recommendations, seasonal itineraries, helpful house details, and a challenge that invited guests to discover the huskies tucked throughout the home.The guide became a way to bring our brand into the actual guest experience.In our first six weeks accepting reservations, we booked $180,000 in stays.
